Austin Kael is Here!

Austin Kael Jaggar
born Monday, March 22, 2010 at 2:38pm
weight: 7 lbs. 8 oz. length: 19 3/4 in.

(you can skip the writing part and just check out the pictures if you want to be spared the details of his birth. I'm writing it for my own journaling.)

I had been dying to get him out for a good week and had tried everything under the sun to induce labor. We took at least one walk a day, and I even tried labor inducing cookies! I started having contractions on Wednesday night, but they went away. And this carried on for days. He was definitely being a stubborn little guy.But at 6:30am Monday morning I woke up to contractiosn that were consistantly 3 to 5 minutes apart. 2 and a half hours later we headed to the hospital. I was only 3 cm. so they had me walk for an hour and when they checked again I was a 5. That was the farthest I had ever gone into labor without an epidural. With Riker I got one at 3 cm, and I do not have a very high tolerance for pain. They admitted me and I got an epidural right away, I love epidurals btw.
To make a long story short, my midwfie broke my water and about 2 hours later I felt like I needed to push. And then 2 pushes and there was baby Austin! My delivery was just a easy as with Riker and the midwife told me she wants to deliver all my babies because I was born to do it and I make it look so easy. What can I say? I'm just good :)

It's A Boy!!!

So I guess we're going to have a new little man in our lives! He's going to have a lot to live up to following in Riker's footsteps, but I'm sure he can do it. Maybe he'll even be cuter, smarter, and nicer? It's a nice thought, right? I'm pretty sure Heavenly Father gave me Riker first so I wouldn't decide to stop having children at 18. I keep thinking "My delivery is going to be painful and long." Because it wasn't with Riker's. "He's not going to sleep through the night for a year." Because Riker did when he was 2 months. "He's going to always want to be held." Because Riker was fine just chilling. "And he's going to cry non-stop."
I know, pretty bad thoughts for a mother-to-be. I'm hoping they're all wrong and all of our kids will be amazing babies. That would be ideal, but regardless of how he is I will love him :) And now that I'm older I'll probably be able to handle all the stuff said above a lot better than I would have 3 years ago.

Here's our new little man! This little booger was facing down for the entire ultrasound. I was in there for probably 20 minutes before Mitchell and Riker came in because the lady needed to get a specific picture of his head. He just was not cooperating, he wouldn't turn over for anything! She was digging that ultrasound thingy into me trying to get him to turn over but he never did. This one is going to be a stubborn one that's for sure.

We're all sooo excited for Austin to come! We can't wait!!!
