Out and About

We decided to take advantage of having Grammee (Mitchell's mom) being here and take Riker out for his birthday meal, since we missed it on his actual birthday. His favorite place to eat is Sbarro (Chik-Fila is a close second) so we all went to the mall and Grammee took Austin while we at lunch and had some solo time with Riker.
While we were waiting for Mitchell to get his food Riker and I had this conversation:

Me: This is just Mommy, Daddy, and Riker time! Isn't that exciting?! (We've been having some clingyness issues since Austin has come so one-on-one time with Riker is important these days)
Riker: ::Huge Gasp:: Yeah! I love you, Mommy! (Then he gives me the biggest hug ever)
M: I love you too, bud.

He is too cute, it's nice to know your kids actual want to be around you!

Eatin some ziti and breadsticks.

Ridin rides.

Satisfiyin his addiction.

Makin wishes.
And eatin dessert!

One Week

Austin is one week old!

This is going by too fast for me already!

Number 2

We had a 2nd birthday party for Riker, it was just a family party because both of our families were in town at the same time. Riker is definitely getting hooked up this year with 3 birthday parties, I guess that's one for each year of his life :)

Hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch...yum.

Riker was more excited about the act of opening presents and not so much the actual presents. He would open one and throw it to the side and start opening the next one without even looking at his new toy. When we asked him to hold up his present for a picture he held up the wrapping paper instead! I guess we know what to get him for future birthdays: a bunch of wrapping paper.

Two of his new army guys.

Happy Birthday! (again)

First Bath!

All who have little boys know that they tend to pee everywhere when you change their diaper. I guess the cold air hits em and they gotta go. Well, Austin doesn't just pee everywhere, he likes to poop everywhere too. Especially all over me! It happened once, and I got Mitchell to help me clean it up because it was literally everywhere. Then he decides to do it again! And the he decides it would be a good idea to pee everywhere too. All within 5 minutes!
He obviously needed a bath so he got his first bath! Hey, at least it's an interesting story leading up to it.

He wasn't too happy about being wet and then cold.

But after he was all cuddled up in his towel he was happy to be clean :)

Cute Boy

While my parents were visiting Riker and Feefa (my dad) went to a FSU baseball game with some friends. Riker loves baseball ad the Noles so he had a blast and was pooped by the time they got home.

He passed out with his baseball mitt still in hand. He is so cute!

Today I went in to check on Riker while he was going potty the other day and this is how I found him.
He's playing a Hangman game that we keep in there for entertainment. When I told him it was time to be all done, he put the game back on the back of the toilet and got off the potty like it was no big deal. Love it!!

Austin Kael is Here!

Austin Kael Jaggar
born Monday, March 22, 2010 at 2:38pm
weight: 7 lbs. 8 oz. length: 19 3/4 in.

(you can skip the writing part and just check out the pictures if you want to be spared the details of his birth. I'm writing it for my own journaling.)

I had been dying to get him out for a good week and had tried everything under the sun to induce labor. We took at least one walk a day, and I even tried labor inducing cookies! I started having contractions on Wednesday night, but they went away. And this carried on for days. He was definitely being a stubborn little guy.But at 6:30am Monday morning I woke up to contractiosn that were consistantly 3 to 5 minutes apart. 2 and a half hours later we headed to the hospital. I was only 3 cm. so they had me walk for an hour and when they checked again I was a 5. That was the farthest I had ever gone into labor without an epidural. With Riker I got one at 3 cm, and I do not have a very high tolerance for pain. They admitted me and I got an epidural right away, I love epidurals btw.
To make a long story short, my midwfie broke my water and about 2 hours later I felt like I needed to push. And then 2 pushes and there was baby Austin! My delivery was just a easy as with Riker and the midwife told me she wants to deliver all my babies because I was born to do it and I make it look so easy. What can I say? I'm just good :)

Big Boy Seat

Riker got his first big boy seat! He gets to wear a seat belt in the car now just like everybody else.

After I took this picture Riker asks me if he could take a picture on me in my seat! He's a goof!!

Birthday Surprise

Mitchell had a nice surprise on Riker's birthday...

STITCHES!

Mitchell called me and told me he had to go to the hospital because he cut his hand. It wasn't too bad of a cut and we even made it home to celebrate Riker's birthday!

Funny Words from Riker

We're in the mall and Riker asks to ride one of those stroller/buggy things. You know, the ones that are 5 bucks to rent?

Riker: Mommy, can I ride that?
Me: No, Riker it's a rip off.
Riker: Oh, can I ride the rip off?

He's Three!

I can't believe that my little man is three! So crazy. As I sat in Wendy's today with my mama I said how crazy it was that 3 years ago he couldn't do anything by himself, but now he can dip his chicken nugget in ranch, take a bite, take a drink, and wipe his hands off. All without asking for help, he just knows. So crazy. Makes me sad kinda, just cause my little man is growing up! Good thing I'll have another one soon (hopefully).
We're having quite a few birthday celebrations for Riker this year. Mitchell's parents and my parents will both be here on the 28th and 29th so we're going to have a family birthday party for him then. And in April we're going to have a friends party. But I still like doing something on kid's actual birthdays too. So last night (after Mitchell cut his hand open, and got stitches) we had pizza and Mac-n-Cheese, Riker's fave.

Then we let him open one present from us, and Meema (my mom) let him open 2 from her.

Then of course, singing Happy Birthday! We had some cupcakes leftover from my baby shower so we stuck a candle in one and sang. It's hilarious because Riker cannot smile during stuff like this. He always trys to be so serious, the only time he smiled or showed emotion while we were singing was when we sang his name.

I love my little guy and can't imagine my life without him! And I'm looking forward to 15 more great years with him!!

Cure to Boredom

Riker has an obsession (among many) with electronics. I know it's probably because he's a boy but I'm definitely not use to it. One second he'll be watching Playhouse Disney and then he'll ask to play the Wii, or Mitchell's PSP, or he'll ask to watch a movie. So I try to limit his intake to one movie a day, and the others it's whatever I feel like (pluses to being the mom).

The other day he had been playing Mitchell's PSP and watching TV all morning so I told him he couldn't do anything else like that until after his nap. Well, an hour and a half plus nap time was a long time to wait for this little boy. He asked me every 5 seconds if he could either watch a movie or play the Wii. I was going to pull my hair out! He finally resorted to "cutting". That's what he calls cutting a piece of paper into tiny pieces. This is how you can tell he's extremely bored. He's definitely not a project-loving child like most children I meet. He's not into crafty messes. And let's face it playing video games and watching Spiderman are a lot more entertaining.

Mature and Sophisticated

Mileena has a new look, at least for most of the day at school.

She got glasses!

They're only for reading but she's really excited about them. She thinks she looks mature in them. I agree that they definitely make her look a lot older!

Number 4

Last Thursday was mine and Mitchell 4th Anniversary! We celebrated last weekend by going to a movie and to the Melting Pot (our annual tradition).

As you can see I'm 'mildly' swollen in the face these days, not a pretty picture but I can't stop taking pictures because of a swollen face!

We saw "The Lovely Bones" and we both actually liked it. I was sure I would because I had read the book in high school, but I wasn't sure if Mitchell would be to into it. Since it's been ages since I've read it I don't quite remember what happened at the end. I think the movie was different so it's probably better that I forgot what happens in the book or I might have been disappointed.

Afterward we headed over to The Melting Pot, I looove this restaurant. We go there once a year on our anniversary. Sometimes we get the big shabang and sometimes we get the littler portion (which is a lot cheaper). For those of you that don't know, The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant. The big shabang (As I like to call it) consists of an appetizer which is your choice of a cheese dip with bread, tortilla chips, apples, and some veggies to dip in the cheese. Then you get a salad. Then is the main course which is the meat, you can choose from several different combinations, that you cook yourself. And last is the dessert which is some type of chocolate with strawberries, cheesecake, brownies, rice krispie treats, chocolate and graham cracker covered marshmellows (my fave), bananas, and pound cake to dip. So amazing to say the least. Anyway, this time we just got the cheese and dessert which equals about the same as going to a regular restaurant. I loved it and since I'm determined to not eat sweets after I have Austin, the dessert was the best!

Happy 4 years, Baby! I love you!!!

Around Here

Things have been pretty busy for me lately with all my doc. appointments and stuff that Mileena has and just entertaining Riker in general. But we've had some fun! Mitchell and I decided to a rewards system for the kids, we're trying to be more positive with the good things they do instead of punishing for the bad things they do. So they each have their own chart and they both have to get 100 stickers and they get a reward. Riker reached his 100 in a month or so (so this time we're uping it up to 250) and Mileena is almost there. We told Mileena that if she got a sticker everytime she went pee-pee in the potty she would've already gotten her reward too.
Anyway, Mileena gets to go on a date with Mitchell and I all by herself (which doesn't happen often) and Riker got a new toy!

Since Riker's latest obsession is Spiderman he decided he wanted the Green Goblin (the bad guy from Spiderman if you didn't already know). I wasn't sure we would be able to find it, but we did!

He loves his Green Goblin and him and Spiderman fight every day, all day long.

Funny story:
When we were in the store, picking out his toy I found a 2 pack with a Green Goblin and a Spiderman for the same price as the Green Goblin he wanted. But when I asked him if he wanted the 2 pack he said "No, I want the mean Green Goblin, not the nice one." The Green Goblin in ther 2 pack was smiling and looked way more friendly than the one he wanted. I suppose they're trying to promote kindness in children's toys these days? Who knows. So alas, we now have the "mean" Green Goblin" in our home and next on his list is the "mean Hulk" not the nice one the mean one. Boy, do I love this kid!

Vermont!

Aside from court our visit to Vermont was great! There wasn't much snow when we got there but on the day of court it snowed all day long. The people we stayed with (Dylan's parents) have a Bed & Breakfast so we got our own little suite above there garage and they fed us every meal we were there. All for free! That's the way to vacation if I do say so myself. We got to hang out with Dylan and Shelley (Nyah's dad and his fiance). It was really nice to be able to talk about the situation and not feel like you're boring the person out of their skull. I swear Shelley and I could talk about it for days and never get annoyed with each other because we're the only ones that completely understand each others situation.
The day before we left I had to make a snowman. I've made one before when I liked in Virginia when it "snowed", but it was more of a frozen-dirtman than a snowman.

Icicles!

Dylan's parents have 4 llamas too! I had never seen a llama in person before, and they are huge! I was too scared to feed them, but Mitchell took a chance.

I was excited for the snow but it was so cold I couldn't handle staying outside for too long. Plus, Mitchell was so scared I was going to slip and fall that he held onto me every second we were outside. I know, my hubby is so kind and loving :)
